Mentorship
Hello and welcome!
Things are changing for 2027!
First off we’ve got an updated application process.
You can now apply for the mentorship up until December 31, 2026 with early bird pricing. The full price option will be available up until January 31st, 2027. Pricing options are on the sign up form.
Second off, the mentorship is changing!
After offering this mentorship for the last 6 years we now have a complete, and ever evolving set of materials that cover everything from basic anatomy and physiology, to the materia medica, to medicine making, etc. As of all the updates that are planned before 2027 the document will be over 200 pages :).
Over the last few years I have offered opportunities to learn about processing, harvesting and growing herbs. We will now have dedicated days, in addition to the Green Ally days, that will be focused on hands-on experience at Good Maker Acres in Warwick. The goal is to ensure we have an intentional space to develop our skills, as well as support our community and local farms who are always in need of knowledgeable hands, attentive minds, and hard working students. These “skills” days are voluntary.
In the past I have offered work study options. These are now officially replaced by free access to all classes I teach at various organizations for the duration of the mentorship.
Other perks include access to locally grown herbs, impromptu walks with other herbalists (we have done a walk with Richard Mandelbaum for the last 2 years), access to whole sale prices for bulk herbs.
This mentorship is designed as a hands-on beginner/intermediate herbal intensive; covering plant identification, major plant families, local medicinal and edible plants, seasonal harvesting, foraging, making remedies, and the science and history behind it all. In addition, this mentorship will deepen your relationship with the Earth through nature connection, wilderness skills and spiritual practices.
This mentorship is available to 6 students and includes:
One monthly in person group Green Ally Day
4 1hr Virtual One-on-one sessions
One monthly virtual class
An overnight retreat
One Skills Day a month at Good Maker Acres in Warwick
“This is one of the most rewarding things I've ever decided to do. Alex is extraordinarily knowledgable in the realms of herbalism, mindfulness and nature connection, but still leaves room to learn with you as a mentee. It makes the perfect container for work like this!” - Sarah
This mentorship is for you. I am here to support your path towards herbalism, self nourishment, wholeness and sovereignty. I am here to be a guide and to nourish your unique relationship with plants and the Earth. I encourage you to self study, work with other herbalists and mentors, to ask lots of questions, to be curious, to challenge what is generally accepted; to fall in love with the great mystery of life, with the “I don’t knows”, with chaos… and to find your own path to medicine and wholeness.
But mostly I encourage you to trust yourself, your mind, your sensations, your body, your heart, the plants. They are our ultimate teachers.
By choosing to commit to this mentorship you are choosing to engage and participate in a lifelong relationship with green allies, ritual, magic and the Earth.
I choose the word “commit” intentionally: commitment is our ability to follow through with our desires with intention and purpose. Every commitment we make expresses both our desires and our limits. It is a contract with ourselves, the Earth and our mentor.
“I waited for the right herbalist for years, and Alex presented as the perfect witness, conduit of wisdom and strong and soft mentor. The way she teaches is nothing like I’ve ever experienced. It’s the way of the plants, subtle and powerful. Permeating every way of being- changing my entire my way of existing in the world to the ways of old- the ways of my ancestors and the wise women. Alex is a humble space holder and embodies the invitation of the plant world. She allows for her students to learn and emerge in the way that works for them, while being a steady guidepost and well of knowledge, story, and experience.” - Previous Student

Skills Days at Good Maker Acres
This is an opportunity to learn hands-on about processing, harvesting and growing herbs at our beloved, local farm Good Maker Acres. Good Maker Acres has been growing many of the plants we know and love. They grow and process large amounts of herbs to make teas, share at farmer’s markets, and local shops. During these days we will be closely working with the owner, Morganne, to support the farm.
All students will have access to an abundance of plants from the farm, and of course, will benefit from the invaluable experience of learning from someone who is quite literally on the ground every day. Please note that this is challenging, deeply rewarding, hard work which requires not just a profound love of the earth but a willingness to get your hands in the dirt.
The day (s) for each month will be agreed upon 2 weeks before the date to ensure everyone who wants to come can make it and that we are aligned with the farm’s rhythm.

“I'm so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to study herbalism throughout this year with Alex. This mentorship truly served to deepen my connection to plant allies, the Goddess, and my own sense of power. Alex has a way of sharing plants and magic in a way that captures a wealth of information but also a personal and intimate knowing that guided me into much more meaningful relationships with herbal allies. There was so much alchemy in working one-on-one with Alex as well as coming together with an incredible group of women walking this path together.” - Previous Student
“My time with Alex was transformational. The mentorship's focus on plants in our bioregion widened my appreciation for the deep medicine that is right in our backyards. This mentorship is not just about herbs! It gave me tools to deepen my sense of self while connecting with a thoughtful, kind, and curious group of women. I am so grateful for the experience.” - Violet
