To this day all baskets are hand woven. Weaving was practiced across ancient civilizations to make textiles, baskets and tools. In this class you will learn the basics on basket weaving and how plants support us in building everyday useful tools. We will teach you step by step how to make your own basket to take home. Everything we make with our hands is a unique process of technique and creativity, and expression of our story and who we are.
Please note that our home is accessible via NJT, class schedule is designed to accommodate train schedules from the Harriman Station. We will pick you up and drive you back to the station.
All workshops will be outdoors to reinforce social distancing. We will have a fire going to keep us warm, a delicious seasonal vegetarian lunch is also included.
