In this class you will learn all about visionary herbs and make your own herb bag, dream pillow and ritual herb kit. Visionary herbs are often used for burning (smudging) and smoking… they open up the doorways to the underworld and the paths to our own intuitive wisdom. Visionary herbs are also used to carry intention, for protection, prayer, to call upon on guides and connect to meaning. In this class you will also be making your own dream pillows and herb kit which includes a buckskin herb bag and feather fan. This is a two part class, each part can be taken separately. Lunch is included. Overnight stay in available.
Part 1, Saturday February 12, will be a hands on workshop taught by Joe from Earth Living Skills where we will make buckskin herb bags and feather fans. These handmade made pieces will not only develop your hands on skills but will also support the herbs and rituals in Part 2. Please note that part 1 is not required for part 2.
Part 2, Sunday the 13th, of this class will introduce individual herbs and their benefits. We will learn about how to work with intention and relationship and create space for dream time medicine. We will cover making smoking and burning blends using local herbs and how to incorporate these in different rituals. We will also be making dream pillows and learn about herbs that can help us sleep, relax and unwind.
Class begins in each dat at 11:00 am and ends at 3:30. Please ask us for overnight accommodations.
Please note that our home is accessible via NJT, class schedule is designed to accommodate train schedules from the Harriman Station. We will pick you up and drive you back to the station.
