Our ancestors relied on the starchy, nutrient and medicine dense roots harvested in the fall to nourish and support them through the winter. Berries were dried during the summer and made into medicine for the winter. Some plants, like hawthorn and elder, are considered panaceas, or cure-alls for any ailment. Learn how to work with burdock, yellow dock, poke, elder, hawthorn and rose hips. Rich in story and lore, these plants have been used for generations against all types of issues from skin ailments, to liver problems and respiratory difficulties. This is a hands-on workshop where we will be making various remedies from these plants including decoctions and syrups.
No previous experience is necessary. Light refreshments will be served.
